Subject: Great Show, Great Sound, Wrong Date and/or Location
According to sweetadeline.net the date and setlist don't match up.

I did see the 10.18.2000 show in Austin, TX with Grandaddy opening. This show is from the late 2000 tour for sure. Does anyone know or have an idea what the actual date would be?

Subject: Dirty, Nasty, Filthy...Awesome
This show captures the inner turmoil in Elliot's songs via unabashed electricity. Listening to this is as cathartic as it must have been for Smith and the band. "Needle in the Hay" serves as a great opener that captures the spirit of this recording. Songs you'd have thought as depressing are elevated in mood, while still retaining their original character. The show really picks up with "Waltz #2 (xo)", a classic rendered beautifully here. Some of the tracks are a little too piano heavy for my taste, but it's hardly a complaint. More of an observation. Even at it's most keys-heavy moment, it ain't Ben Folds...thankfully. I apologize if I offended anybody by referring to Folds and Elliot in the same string of thought. I'm sure they're talented in their own unique ways...but come on, it's like comparing peaches to potatoes, small potatoes.

There's shades of Elvis Costello, adding to the sardonic yet uplifting tone of this show.

"Yer Blues" alone makes this worth a listen. Perfectly sums up the performance.

From a sound quality standpoint, this is the best electric show on here. The vocals are somewhat low in the mix so Elliot's voice works more as texture to the music.

Dope's the only thing that could enhance this show. It probably enhanced his playing.

Subject: This is amazing
Elliott is at his best in his home town of Portland, Oregon. This is the best live show I've ever heard by him. It's just too bad that I never got to see him play...

Subject: Best full band show
IMO this is the best full band Elliott show on the archive. The cover of Yer Blues is awesome.
